konqueror/kmail open (in new window) opens local tmp copy

Post by bananachunk » Tue, 11 Feb 2003 20:15:39

Clicking a link in kmail such as:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=29045
opens:
file:/home/username/.kde3.1/share/apps/kfmexec/tmp/25135.0.viewtopic.php.

The same thing happens on a webpage when I right click a link and "Open In
New Window".  Open In New Tab is fine, as is Copy Link Location...

Anyone else seeing this?  Fixed it?

KDE 3.1.0
Gentoo1.2
(need any other info?)

TIA

Sounds like maybe file associations.
In Konqueror, Settings > Configure Konqueror, go to file associations, under
known types, choose text > html, on the execute tab, the command I have is
kfmclient openURL %u text/html

I think this is the command invoked when you click on a link in an
application other than Konqueror (or the command invoked for new window)

That did it.  There were 2 entries for Konqueror.  I deleted the one that
wasn't like you described above.

Thanks!

1. Opening new Konqueror windows... size question

When I click on a link in konqueror, the new window that opens is not quite
fullscreen. Even when I re-size it and select 'store settings' from the
window title bar. it still seems to open it just short of fullscreen.
Anyone know how to make all new windows open fullscreen?

Thanks

John.

PS Might it have anything to do with saving the session when logging out?
