How to add more applications from MIME types..

Hi,
I am trying to bind file types to applications that will open them (
pdf files with xpdf
for instance) The problem is, the "new->MIME type" dialog has certain
preset set of applications that can be associated with any file and for
the life of me I can't figure out how to add more applications in that
drop down list.  Can anybody shed some light on that. I am using kde
1.1.1 by the way...

  Thanks
  Chetan

You have to set up a Program.kdelnk under $KDEDIR/share/applnk and in
it's Properties|Application tab select the mimetypes that it can
handle.  Mimelnk and applnk feed off of each other.
