Compiling from CVS

Compiling from CVS

Post by Palanti » Tue, 24 Jul 2001 15:45:51

I can't compile kdebase from CVS! I have no problems with the modules
kdesupport and kdelibs, but when I try and install kdebase I get the
folloqing error:
make[3]: Entering directory `/home/maciej/src/kdebase/doc/kate'
/usr/bin/meinproc --check --cache index.cache.bz2 ./index.docbook
Don't know how to do adjust column widths with libxslt
unable to parse ./index.docbook
make[3]: *** [index.cache.bz2] Error 1

What do I miss??
Question 2: If I won't be able to get rid of this problem, how can I
uninstall the libs and support and go back to use the old KDE2.1.1 supplied
with my RedHat 7.1 distribution?

1. Problem To Compile Alsa (CVS)

I am wondering if anyone out here has a success story in compiling
alsa-driver from CVS tree and would like to help.

I have linux-2.4.18 kernel installed under "/usr/src" on my SuSE 8.0 Pro
Linux machine with the following patch:

I have done "setenv ALSAKERNELDIR /usr/src/linux/drivers/sound/cards" before
compiling alsa-driver. However, when I tried to compile the alsa-driver
using "cvscompile", it went through to "configure" scripts and after a
while the compilation spitted out the following errors:

g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I. -I./newt    -g -Wall -ftemplate-depth-20 -c
-o param.o `test -f || echo './'`
/usr/share/bison/bison.simple:90: member `struct param_type yyalloc::yyvs'
with constructor not allowed in union
make[2]: *** [param.o] Error 1

Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
