kppp not working after reboot with Rage 128 Video Card

Post by Phil Kingm » Thu, 23 Sep 1999 04:00:00

I just installed RH6. I had to load XF drivers for my Rage 128 card and
Xwindows finally worked.  Kppp worked with no problem, but after reboot it
says the modem is busy.  If given access to pppusers to pppd and modem and
tried to use modem under root with out success.  I cannot access under
netconf either.  I'm trying to set up a debug log.
I had a Matrox Video card prior and everthing work fine.

Any help apprecitated.

How you installed Rage 128? Does XFree support this card?

Gregor

P.S.
Maybe you should delete the configuration file of Kppp (kppprc) and than
configure it again.

1. Is it possible to get the ATI 128 Rage 32MB Video Card working

Hi,

Is it possible to get the ATI 128 Rage 32M Video card working with Linux.

I am new to this operating system and have installed a version from SuSE.  I
am trying to install Xfree98 and when it tests the graphics card the screen
either goes blank or reports an error.  This is when using either the SVGA
or the Mach64 servers.

Any help would be much appreciated please also contact me direct on

Many thanks
