Desktop icon positioning on KDE2

Desktop icon positioning on KDE2

Post by Paul » Sun, 05 Nov 2000 04:00:00

I've started using KDE2 on Best Linux. Everything installed easily and
seems to work fine. One slightly annoying thing is that I can't seem
to get the desktop icons to hold the position or order I want . ...if I
click arrange icons, it puts them back in their original (undesirable)
position.
What am I missing here?...I'm assuming that in this highly customizable
environment that this is something I can customize....

Thanks,

Paul

Um, so don't click 'arrange icons' ?

That sounds to me like it would arrange them back in a row or whatever.
Instead, try clicking 'line up icons'.  That just snaps them to an
invisible grid.

On my istallation the line up icons has no visible effect at all, its snaps
nothing to nowhere. Your opeinng comment begs the issue that there doesn't
seem to be a functioning method of  aligning or realigning icons without
reorganizing them.
