BUG: KDE 2.1.2 Konqueror & viewing PDF file - mouse freezes

Post by Robert Davie » Fri, 06 Jul 2001 20:36:51

I'm running SuSE 7.1 upgraded to XFree-4.0.3 and KDE-2.1.2 from SuSE rpms.

I have found a reproducible problem when viewing this pdf file :

http://www.linuxuser.co.uk/articles/issue11/lu11-True_Stories-Microso...

When you enlarge the PDF viewer window that Konqi puts up, and magnify
Twice to make it more readable, the mouse pointer becomes frozen.

It is still possible to use keyboard, but I have to <CNTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE>
to restart X to get use of mouse back.

Is this a known problem, fixed in 2.2, reproducible by others?
Does it need reporting somewhere else?

Tried reporting the bug at the KDE bug page?

No, I was hoping someone else using KDE-2.1.2 and XFree-4.0.3 would try it
and see if it's reproducible.  I tried upgrading to XFree-4.1.0 as mouse
freeze problems got worse, but  I could expand that page, without seeing
teh problem any more.

I have KDE-2.1.2 and XFree-4.0.3, and the embedded viewer does not display
this page at all. There's a message that the page may be "encrypted or
corrupted" - no freeze though. However, Acrobat Reader displays it
correctly.

Curiouser and curiouser...  never saw that problem.
