YP maps offered by a YPSERVer

YP maps offered by a YPSERVer

Is there any way for a user to know what maps are supplied by an YPSERVer ?
That is, is there any requierement that makes the ypserver send you the list
of the map it's offering?
Thanks you in advance.

Yes.

The list or the maps themselves ?
In both case, it's the same: when you interrogate a YPSERVER, you have
to know its YPDOMAINNAME, which HAS TO be different from
DNSDOMAINENAME, and happily is, almost each time.

1. YP maps still held by old yp master

Hi,

I wanted to switch yp masters from machine x to machine y.  So I followed
the procedure outlined on page 64-65 of the O'Reilly NFS and NIS book.
Everything is find except that when I do a ypwhich -m two maps are still
"owned" by the old master and nothing I can do seems to dislodge them.
They are aliases and ypsevers.  What can I do?  Thanks!
