Where might I find a general discussion of firewalls? I am
looking for overview information, not product reviews at this time.

Try the book "Building Internet Firewalls" D. Brent Chapman and Elizabeth
D. Zwicky, O'Reilly and Associates, ISBN1-56592-124-0, cover price US$29.95

You could also look at "Firewalls and Internet Security - Repelling the Wily
Hacker" William R. Cheswick and Steven M. Bellovin, Addison Wesley, ISBN
0-201-63357-4 (not sure of price, but probably around US$25-35)

I ordered both of these books from Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/)
and they were delivered within three days.
