Mac-on-Linux announces version number?

MOL 0.9.40-1, LinuxPPC kernel 2.2.12 on an
Apple 1999 PowerBook G3 ("bronze") with 128 MB RAM

Extremely dense late-night question: what's the easiest way to have
startmol report which version of MOL is currently installed?

Just run it. It seems to print the MOL version to the console it's
started from (for me).

Answering your other questions:

- startmol can be run as user if you did load the kernel modules first
(modprobe mol && modprobe sheep_net as root).

- The screen resizing seems inevitable but you can resize the screen by
selcting the desired resolution in the Monitors&Sound control panel.

- The 1024x768-75 might be the right mode already; the console vmode and
the X modes can be different unless you run the machine with 'no video
driver' checked. 1024x768-60 is another possible mode. All that counts
is the modes in /etc/X11/XF68Config though.
