Clean dual-boot of LinuxPPC on Powercenter 120?

Post by Jerry Quin » Thu, 19 Mar 1998 04:00:00

Is there a clean dual-boot approach to using linuxppc on powercenter 120's?
I've read that there is a boot-time selection program available.  However,
supposedly you can't use the built-in display on 7200 class machines under
OF (which is what I thought the boot selection program runs under).

What would be my options?  I'm currently running MkLinux, which doesn't have
this problem.

1. PowerCenter 120 Has 132Mhz cpu? Really?

I recently got myself a powercenter 120 and linux says that
the cpu is 132Mhz.  MacOS says the same thing.

I've opened up the case and tried to check the cpu myself but
could not even locate a cpu.

I am new to macintoshes and I would appreciate if someone
could enlighten me on this puzzle.  I understand that powercenter
120 ships with powerpc 604 120Mhz.

Thanks in advance,
