Very stupid question

Very stupid question

Post by Justin R. Smit » Fri, 01 May 1998 04:00:00

I tried to install MkLinux on a 6500/255 PPC (with a ATA drive).

I never managed to create Unix partitions on it. I created
some partitions with HD setup, but pdisk complained
that there were no recognizable devices. Is it able
to handle non-SCSI disks?

Try the latest version of pdisk from the wip directory on the MKLinux
ftp site. You'll also need to install preDR3 rather than DR2.1. Could
you take that .sig somewhere and either put it on a diet, or at least
treat it to a .sig separator?

1. --stupid question but then there are no stupid questions--

I'm a beginner here so, so far everything i read has gone
way over my head. My problem is I got a script sent to me
decoded or something like that. You are supposed to enter the
data into a uudecode or something but I'm not sure how that's
done. There's a program on the university's main menu that
called UUDECODE but everytime I run it through it, it says it
can't open the file. Comments ??????? Help ?
