LinuxPPC R5 vs. R4, what are the differences?

What are the differences between LinuxPPC R5 versus R4?  And can't any
improvements in R5 be easily added to an R4 installation by just
installing the relevant RPM's?

Also, what's the state of the pre-R5 build at this point -- is it stable
and usable except for a few new features, or is it fundamentally unsafe
for day-to-day work?

The biggest one that I'm looking forward to is that Xfree86 has been
ported to PPC. It'll really speed up graphics and Wacom tablets are
supported in it :)

1. Dvorak layout - R4 installer vs R5

When I installed Release 4 with what now is called the RedHat
installer, it asked me what keyboard layout I wanted to
use. At the time I chose dvorak, and when linux started
up it dropped me into a vt that used the dvorak layout.
Anyway, I upgraded to R5 using the Xinstaller and I was
never given a choice about which layout I wanted. The result
is that I am dropped into the qwerty layout when I go to a vt.
(I've managed to set Xwindows for dvorak--this is not the
problem).

What I would like to know is how did Release 4's installer
set up the dvorak layout as the default keyboard layout.
I want to do the same thing manually now. Looking at the mans,
I found loadkeys and keymaps which are obviously part of my solution.
However, it seems like I have to write my own keymap for
dvorak on a mac-us-extended keyboard. I found a keymap for
i386 and on, but loadkeying these result in a typographical
nightmare. It seems that I need one specifically for the mac.
Since Release 4's installer was successful at installing such
a map, I would really like to get my hands on it. Where could
I find it?

Any other advice is welcome too.
