Sound on beige G3-a/v?

Sound on beige G3-a/v?

Post by Richard Nilsso » Wed, 08 Dec 1999 04:00:00

Anyone got sound working on beige G3 with audio/video-I/O board yet?

I can't get a peep out mine (s'OK in MacOS).

Kernel reports it's trying to use DMA sound support, so must be compiled
in - I can't find a sound driver module.

Sound on beige G3-a/v?

I have the same problem with my G3. It's beige with an AV board (prolly the
nicest soundcard I've ever seen on a computer... RCA in/out.. can't beat that,
not to mention the S-video). and I've tried most of the 'aumix whatever'
commands. Any help on this?

Sorry, I can't help you. But if you get the answer could you pass it
along to me too. I have the same machine and the same problem. I've
tried everything I could find in the FAQ's and various posts here.
Nothing works. I asked the folks at LinuxPPC and they said it wasn't an
'installation' problem and therefore they wouldn't help. I've thought
about trying YellowDog to see if they have it working, but I suspect t a
problem at the kernel level. Has anyone built a kernel that will support
sound on the G3/av's?
