Any ideas on why it detects the amount of Video RAM incorrectly?

I had consider trouble getting video to be happy on my Powerbook.
Xconfigurator would report incorrect values for my video as well.
My solution, and possibly yours is Xautoconfig
Check it out.

1. XFree86 > 3.3.6 on PPC 7600, 7500, 7300 ??
Does anyone out there have X newer then 3.3.6 (Xpmac) running on a 7600,
7500, 7300, etc?
I would sure like to upgrade, but I cannot get X newer than 3.3.6 to work. I
keep getting the same
gdm already running... errors, and no X display.
LinuxPPC 2000 (first release) and YDL 1.2.1 have both worked fine, but not
YDL 2 or 2.1, or Linux PPC's new release.
For now, I've settled back to LinuxPPC's early release and updates of
everything except X. I'm tethered to Xpmac at the moment (which isn't that
bad because I DO have accelerated video!)
Just wondering what someone else may have done to make the new X Server run
on a 7600.....
