Bootx - can′t get it running

Bootx - can′t get it running

Post by Ruediger Plueckhah » Wed, 19 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Hi all,

I tried to install Yellow Dog on my machine - a 7100AV 80 MHZ - and of
course I had to use BootX. I cant get it running. Most versions (I
tried 1.03, 1.2.x and so on) immediately crashed when I clicked either
on "settings" or on "boot linux" (error 10 I believe). The display of
the kernel-selection also looks incorrect. I tried OS 7.6.1 and 8.1 - it
just crashed. The only version that works a bit is 1.1.3. This one does
something to the system - the mouse goes away, I can hear some disk
activity - and the the system freezes, depending on the monitor settings
sometimes the colors change a bit.
Ive got all the necessary files in their correct location (ramdisk &
vmilunx) so I dont know whats wrong. Maybe one of you know how to fix
this? Do I need a special OS version or some extensions? Any help is
greatly appreciated.

As far as I know YDL does not run on NuBus machine as yours.
There are development kernels that should boot but I cannot halp this way.
