I have an iMac DV model and would like to make contact with someone who has
succesfully installed Linux onto one of these machines.
I also want to be able to dual boot OS 9 and Linux.
Can anyone hold my hand and give me some advice.

1. Help! Installing Deb Linux on iMac
So I'm trying to install Potato on an iMac, and I'm having a hell of a
time. I've repartitioned such that I've got:
- Bootstrap (Linux native) partition of 800K
- Linux (Linux native) partition of 3 gigs
- Swap (Linux swap) partition of 145 megs
- Apple (Partition map) partition of 31.5K
- a pile of free space
The trick I'm having is that I don't know how to get the system booting
into Linux. When I boot up with no CD in the drive, I get a grey screen
with a folder flashing between a MacOS icon and a question mark. (When I
boot with the Debian CD, I get a yaboot prompt.)
I'm really just not clear at all what I need to do to get from where I am
now to booting into Linux. I've been crawling through HOWTOs for the last
couple of hours with no success.
Thanks in advance (and, probably, after the fact as well) for any help.
