Linux/PowerPC opinions wanted.

Hi:

I have a project that I am considering going non -x86.  I have heard mixed
things about non-x86 Linux, our OS of choice.

I thought I would ask those who are fortunate to be using PowerPCs to give
me
some feed back on their experience and what things I should look out for.  I
would appreciate good and bad experiences as well as info on reputable
vendors of turn key PowerPC/Linux systems and ones to stay away from as
well.

Any particular preference on Linux vendors would be helpful as well as
hardware assistance.

Thanks in advance.

Michael

If you're looking for non-Apple PowerPC hardware, there really isn't
any, unless the German group (PIOS?) is still making them.  You can
occasionally find hardware, but it's prohibitively expensive.

IMO, your best bet is to get an Apple machine (new or used), and use
that.
