Debian Potato on OldWorld Pmac -- Mouse doesn't work

Post by Ted » Tue, 02 Apr 2002 12:21:54

I boot in WindowMaker, but the mouse doesn't respond. Does anyone know
what I need to configure to get it to work?

Thanks.

The program gpm-mouse-test (part of the gpm package) can be used to check
what type of mouse you have. If you could not detect your mouse, then the
kernel must be compiled with  CONFIG_ADBMOUSE=y (kernel-source-2.2.19 has
this flag as one of its default)
BTW, the kernel at ftp.debian.org does not have ADB built-in.

Install the re-compiled kernel & re-boot. As root, issue the command
        mknod adbmouse c 10 10
This creates a device called adbmouse which is easily used by gpm
and XWindows.

Then modify the XF86Config file
