Hi, I've downloaded the image file of LINUX PPC 2000 from the ftp of the
"linuxppc" site, the file's name is: LinuxPPC_2000_Full.image
How can I use this "image" file? I've to burn it? If yes with wich program?
If not...what I've to do?
Thanks for ALL!!

Yes, you're right, you need to burn it in a program like Toast.  It's a
bootable image for the Linux installer, which means once it's on a disc,
you just need to hold down the "C" key to boot from it, and you get a
real nice X-Windows installer.

Things have progressed a lot since LinuxPPC R4...

Just out of curiousity, is it possible to put this bootable image on a
hard drive partition and make it bootable?

I haven't tried this, but I guess in theory it would be possible.  I'll
give it a whirl once I clear up some disk space.

1. LinuxPPC2000 Kernal Panic: Unable to mount ext2 max limit reached..Please Help!

That is the error I am getting...... I tried using fsch -t and -a,the
efsck command doesn't work when booting from the ramdisk; computer
states that command does not exist. The system tells me it will
reboot.... I have a 96mb swap (96mb Ram)
on hda6   /  (root?) 891.6mb on hda7 (Linux Format)   and /home 500mb on
hda8 (apple_Unix format) Am I doing some thing wrong...? Also is the
/boot (32mb) really necessary?? If so, why is it apple hfs format. I
tried tah and OS 8.6 really bitched about it. (Want to Format?) Perhaps
if some one could give me a little bit more of a detailed install
instructions.. I got redhat to work on my friends PII.... I do not want
the redhat version.... Does the order of the partitions affect my
booting. BTW I have an iMac rev. C 96mb ram......
