I have LinuxPPC Pre-5 installed on my G3 (B&W).
Was wondering if I can operate my Apple internal
V.90 modem under LinuxPPC Pre-5.

Try looking at section 5.5 of my HOWTO for the new G3. I added a line on
setting up the modem:
ln /dev/cua0 /dev/modem
See if that helps.
