Linux on ORB drive

Linux on ORB drive

Post by Leland Bla » Sun, 19 Sep 1999 04:00:00

I am attempting to install Linux (Yellow Dog distribution) on an ORB
drive. FDISK won't partition the disk. It says it is "running on
/dev/sdc", but no "Edit /tmp/sdc -" prompt appears and commands don't
work. Has anyone successfully installed PowerPC Linux on an ORB?

1. Anyone try a SCSI Orb removable drive with Linux?

Would be interested if anyone has direct experience with the
new Orb 2.2 GB removable drive, which sounds like a great
replacement for a Jaz drive. Does it work smoothly with
Linux as a standard SCSI device?

        Thanks,
