Strange MOL Problem

Strange MOL Problem

Post by Michael E. Stor » Mon, 29 Jan 2001 08:45:42

With MOL running in its own console, sometimes I am unable to move,
close, maximize, or otherwise change  windows in the X-windows console.
This usually ends when I quit MOL, but sometimes I must log off and on
again. On rare occasions opening another window works.

Occasionally, doing things in the Mac Finder will cause multiple copies
of netscape to open in the x-windows console.

On rare occasions, I am unable to switch consoles when MacOs freezes up.

Has anyone else had any of these problems?

Strange MOL Problem

Post by Michael E. Stor » Mon, 29 Jan 2001 09:41:30

I have a major clue!  When this strange behavior is happening, atleast
the major symptom below, it is the equivilent of the command key being held down!

1. mol problems update (was: about to give up on MOL)

For some reason, my System.map for 2.2.18 was not correct.  I let MOL make one.
Now, I can get this far, which is as far as I got with
2.2.15-presomething

Now, MacOS starts up and gives me a system map inconsistent error.  Here
is what is happening in the MOL terminal window:
