Having installed Helix-gnome I now find I cannot install or update many
other rpm's (including Navigator 4.73, Mozilla etc) due to a missing library:

libstd++-lib6.1-2.so3

I have searched far and wide for it but no luck. I suspect it may be a
part of a larger package of a different name.

Where can I get it from?

No: libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3.

It's the standard C++ library that goes with gcc 2.95.*, and might be in a
package called something like "libstdc++2.10" (which is where Debian puts
it).
