YDL CS 1.2 iso image burning problem & questions

Post by vanye45 » Mon, 03 Apr 2000 05:00:00

hello, I've been reading and trying the various tips for burning the YDL CS
1.2
image with no success using Toast 4. (I d/l'd using both Fetch in binary mode

and Explorer using an Option+click (save to disk) methods)

I've tried dragging the image file onto Toast then burning a CD which gives
me

a nice CD with an image file on it rather than a usable file structure.

Actually mounting the image gives me two disks on the desktop which I know
won't work since Toast appears to think they are 2 actual CD images (hfs+iso)
with about 1200 megs of data which obviously won't fit on a CD.

I even tried burning one of these mounted "partitions" to CD.

So, after multiple tries I'm stumped......can someone explain where I'm
screwing up and point me in the right directon?

huge thnx!!

Kurt

ps. I've been reading the earlier threads on this but didn't get enough info
to achieve success.

WITH TOAST 3.5.7 you can select the Disk image option in the Format menu.
Then click on "Data" button and select the image file. Just burn the CD,
you don't need to mount it.

this time and will try it out when I get home tonite. Thnx again for

1. YDL CS 1.2, bad ISO file?

Hey folks.  I can't get the .iso image file for YDL CS 1.2 Install to
burn to CD.  Image files for the 1.2 Install and the 1.2 Tasty Morsels
CDs appeared this weekend.  The 1.2 Tasty Morsels iso image is 427MB in
size and burns just fine.  The Install image is 686MB in size and thus
the CD burner software fills the disk and then gives an overflow error
message.  I don't see how a 686MB file is supposed to fit on a CD
anyway.

I downloaded the image file from this location
<ftp://metalab.unc.edu//pub/Linux/distributions/yellowdog/iso> and I
checked other mirror sites and the image file is the same size on all of
them.

Any help is appreciated.
