Post by Francis Teo Ee Cheo » Thu, 22 Jan 1998 04:00:00

Hi anybody encounter this problem with PPP setup.
After setting up I can telnet using account nppp/psw and see packets
being sent to the terminal.
Now when i dial in using Win95 i cannot get the login prompt whereas
in the earlier Unix version I got it working fine.

Thanks a Thousand.

   Have you got PAP or CHAP authentication turned on or off  in both
ends.  /etc/ppphosts will probably be different between this and your
earlier unix version.

1. Trying to setup PPP - test with Minicom - no login prompt

I'm trying to setup ppp with RedHat 5.2

When I use minicom to see what I would use in a script, this is what I
get:

atdt8848300
CONNECT 38400
{a five second wait}
Annex Command Line Interpreter
{copyright info}
207.86.249.2:

I tried "ppp," "login" and get nothing.  All I can do is exit and
reset.

Also, the address is not one of the two DNSs of my ISP.

Thanks in advance for your help.
