Sound Blaster 16

Post by Christopher Fowl » Sun, 14 Apr 1996 04:00:00

I would like to put a SB16 card in my SCO box,  but I have not
found any drivers.  Does anybody know where I can find them at?

Thanks,
Christopher Fowler

I downloaded xmcd/cda which works very well for listening to CD's while
I'm working.  The only odd behaviour which I have noticed is that if
I play a CD under Windows 3.1 -- after booting DOS -- and leave the
volume turned low when exiting from Windows, cda can't seem to crank
the volume any higher than the last setting under Windows.  The reverse,
going from UNIX to Windows doesn't seem to be true.

The readme file for xmcd/cda states that the source can be downloaded from
ftp.x.org:/contrib/applications/xmcd

Pssst, Chris.   Test your news software before using it...

This is covered in the FAQ for this group.  Since you don't list
what version you have, I can only narrow it down to one of two
choices.

ftp.sco.com:/TLS/tls[05]66*

mailed to author, posted to group.

1. Sound Blaster 16 (Vibra 16)

hey guys,

I am new to freebsd, but not new to *nix.  I am trying to get my sound card
working in it and so far I have no success.
The only somewhat success I have gotten is for the kernel to tell me or
complain that it needs Sound Blaster Pro support for my sound card.

I have the following in the kernel for sound,

controller snd0

device sb0 at isa? port 0x220 irq 5 drq 1 vector sbintr

I have also tried pcm0 but it wont even compile for me.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Nicolas
