TRANSFERRING ASCII FILE TO E-MAIL FORMAT? HELP!!!

Post by g.. » Tue, 27 Jun 1995 04:00:00

I'm using SCO's XDesktop 3.0 F. I want to transfer a text file from Wordperfect
(in ASCII format?) to my e-mail program. I can get the file into the correct
directory, but it "can't open to read file". What do I need to do? Everyone keeps
telling me it should work - no problem. Where am I going wrong?

Do I need to save my WP document in a different format, or is it really a much more complicated task than MOST people think? Much thanks in advance for any help!!!

First of all try to get your From: or Reply-To: headers right.

Second. What do you mean with mail format. There are many
possibilities to do this. Either you send the WordPerfect File as is
uuencoded. Or you send it in it's binary format with MIME. Then your
receiver has to have text/wordperfect defined in his MIME
configuration files. Or you convert the WP doc to ASCII (with Save As
in Motif or Text In/Out->UNIX Text in the ASCII version) and mail it
"normally". With the Motif Version of WP 5.1 you can mail documents
directly from within WP in uuencoded format.
