Strange Printing problem

Hi everyone,

I've got a strange printing problem with my SCO OpenServer 5 box.
It has several print queue's that service networked users.  Every so
often, the lpd daemon stops responding.  You can view all the jobs in
the queue, but nothing's printing.

What would I want to look for, or where would I want to start?

My experience with lpd printing is if the network path to the printer is
down for a length of time you get the no daemon present message on the
printer when you do a lpstat. If the connection is restored then a new
print job to the same printer will start the printer again.
