is there a top??

is there a top??

Post by Jaso » Mon, 26 Jan 1998 04:00:00

Hi,

The other day a friend was showing me linux, and while I was probing
around to see what it could do I noticed that it had no sar command, but
he showed me a great little utility called top which show all the top
cpu eating processes, uptime and a few other things real-time. I was
just wondering if there is any equivalent utility for SCO (3.2 v4.2), or
am I going to have to port the source to SCO (which I would rather not
do!!!!).

Thanks in advance
Jason

Check for u386mon at the usual SCO sites. It's also on Skunkware.
Gives pretty much information about your system (realtime).

Actually, top CAN be made to run on SCO. Unfortunately, due to differences
between various flavors of Unix, the SCO-compiled version does not report
nearly as much neato information as one sees on Linux. The weird thing
about top is it is configured with a c-shell script, and SCO's csh is
broken and won't run the script. however if you have a working tcsh, it
WILL run the script.

1. Squid Setting IP Forward (Top Top Top Urgent)

Why are you using 168.1.1.x for your network addresses? This is a
network that's allocated to Credit Suisse - which is in Switzerland.

Squid is configured to forward your real (internal) IP address. ISA
isn't.

The quick fix is to change squid not to forward your internal IP
address. The correct fix is to use a private network address as defined

in RFC 1918. Typically this is one starting 192.168.x.x.

I'm understand the problems, but i can't change the network design now.

So, How To do that (quick fix to change squid not forward my internal
ip address) ?? Is it add a iptables or config some etc .....

Please Please Please Please help me
