finding serial # of the development system

Post by Fulko He » Sat, 23 Sep 1995 04:00:00

Does anyone know how I can find out what serial # was used on an ODT
development system.

I know I can use getserno on some of the OS files, but it doesn't
return anything for the devsys files mentioned in the perms files

If anyone has an answer this afternoon, mail me at work:

TIA, fulko

look at the file /etc/serialno. The products of SCO are listed there.

1. Full GNU C development suite w/out SCO development system (Not)

this to some extent is true, but glib is the exception.  In order to use
networking (rpc) and Xwindow libraries you need the space wasting SCO
development systems libraries because most of them have references to
sco's /lib/libc.a and force you to use it rather than /usr/local/lib/libc.a ...
If anyone knows a way around this one, i'd give tons of money to them :)
