License problem in upgrade SCO 3.2 to SCO Openserver 5

Post by Franco Screpan » Tue, 10 Dec 1996 04:00:00

Hello,
I have a problem to upgrade my SCO 3.2 to SCO Openserver 5.

For SCO 3.2 i have only original diskettes and i have missed license.

My reseller want the SCO 3.2 license to give me the SCO Openserver 5
upgrade, otherwise he give me a SCO Openserver 5 complete that costs
a lot.

It's possible in a SCO 3.2 retrieve from the system license info?

Can i buy the SCO Openserver 5 upgrade with only original
diskettese for SCO 3.2?

Thanks Franco

Hi Franco, it is not possible to retrieve the license info yourself.
I'm not sure how it works outside the U.S., but it is possible for
SCO to generate a license for you (given your serial number, which
can be determined).  There is a fee, however, but it should be less
than having to buy a completely new OpenServer Release 5 system instead
of an upgrade.

I would contact your nearest SCO office and see if they can help you.

Regards,

Tim

1. SCO OpenServer 3.2 5.0.0 Problem with Pseudo ttys

Hello,

I used the SCO OpenServer Software. I installed OpenSSH-2.1.1p3 deamon
on it. It runs correct if I login with only one ssh client. On one of
our server I get the message: can't allocate pseudo tty if I try to
connect with a second client. On another server I get this message
after I connect with a fourth client. I get this problem only with ssh.
Is this a problem of SCO? Under Linux I didn't know this kind of
problem with ssh. Do you know a solution?

Thanks for help.

regards
