5.0.4 fixes many bugs in the ATAPI driver.  I haven't heard of this
issue.  Give us a complete description of the hardware (especially the
brand and model of CD-ROM and the source of the IDE controllers); plus
the actual exact text of the boot recogition messages.  What is on the
primary IDE controller?  What BIOS and version?  Motherboard?
