Post by joe mc coo » Wed, 10 Jan 1996 04:00:00

I have SCO OES 3.2v4.2.  Please where can I get binaries (ideally) for
Emacs 19.30 ?

FTP on Sunsite, sunsite.unc.edu.  When in doubt search ftp.funet.fi,
if they don't have it themselves, it's mirrored from the original source.

HTH.

Sunsite is now a repository for SCO binaries?

Oops, hit the button too quickly.

They have some packages that include support for multiple Unix platforms,
SCO included.  It has only Sun OS patches that I've seen, but otherwise
it seems more generic.

1. configuration for emacs 19.30 under SCO 5?

Hi,

As shipped, emacs 19.30 doesn't want to configure for SCO 5, the output
is as follows:

447$ configure
loading cache ./config.cache
checking host system type... i386-unknown-sco3.2v5.0.0
configure: error: Emacs hasn't been ported to `i386-unknown-sco3.2v5.0.0'
systems.
Check `etc/MACHINES' for recognized configuration names.

Amateur fiddling with configure has not produced anything useful. Does
anyone have the appropriate patch for configure? (Or whatever needs
patching)?

Thanks,

Ben

P.S. a copy of the answer by email would be appreciated.
