UUCP fails with message Cannot rewrite protected password entry

I am having problems while trying to connect two
Openserver 5.0.2 servers using uucp for the
purpose of file transfers.  The followng is the
output from the command uutry -r -x9 liquor7:

The line that is confusing me is Cannot rewrite
protected password entry.  I have checked the
password and account for nuucp and everything
looks like it is fine.  The system I am dialing
out on can connect to: 8 other SCo openserver
5.0.2 boxs with identical setup ( ie same
hardware, software, Systems file and Permission
file), as well as this system using another user
account and cu.  Also until about two months ago
we could connect to this box and I haven't
changed anything on this Server at all.

Any suggestions that you could offer to get this
back working would be considerably useful.  Also
I have included the Systems and Permission file
below.

By all means put a .hushlogin in the uucp home directory.

| rewrite protected password entry^M^Jimsg >imsg
| >imsg >imsg >imsg >imsg ...

It's probably a bad Permissions file.
Run uucheck.
See Technical Article 103467.

Don't use nuucp. Create individual logins for each machine that you
expect to call in, with different passwords for each calling machine,
and individual home directories in /usr/spool/uucplogins, and spoecific
entries in the Permissions file.

And another thing to watch out for on using the -x? settings.
Depending on how the other site is set up, people have been known
to overflow logs as the far site.

1. NIS Problem - Can't rewrite protected password entry

Hello,

I have setup a NIS master, a NIS slave and several NIS clients in
enhanced
security mode. When the NIS master is down and someone tries to login
into a NIS client or into the NIS slave, he gets the error
"Can't rewrite protected password entry for user ....', and the login
is rejected.  Version 4.0F of Compaq Tru64 is installed on the NIS
master
and on the NIS slave.

Any ideas?
