Note that we used that "feature" once.... the Wyse 60 clocks lost/gained more
than 5 to 10 minutes a day.  We declaired it useless.

    But it's NOT useless:  I have the same thing called from /etc/profile.
It sets the terminal to the "proper" time (according to the system clock)
at every login.  So what if it looses 1-2 minutes a day?  The closer you get
to the end of a shift, the less the users care about the exact minute, anyway.

    We have some 30-40 terminals here, and at least 60 employees.  After 4
years of using this feature, I've YET to hear any mention [criticism, gripe
or flame] from anyone on it's innaccuracy.

    Also, if you put it in a file /usr/bin/tod for example, the users can
invoke it at any time to RESET the clock, should they cycle power.  It's so
simple, and it looks so much better than the terminal having a random time
on it.  That's like a VCR set to "12:00" for years.
