The following problems are addressed in Technical Articles that appeared
on SCO's web site in the week ending 20000826.

Each problem is preceded by the URL reference to get the relevant article
from the WAIS database at sco.com.

        created 05 Mar 1993

PROBLEM:  Cannot print locally after remote line printing (RLP) has been
configured running "mkdev rlp" twice in a row.  (If local printing
is working, but remote isn't, see footNOTE below.)   One indication
of the problem is if, after running an "lp", "lpstat", or "cancel"
command, you get the message on the system console:

CONFIG: allocreg - Region table overflow (NREGION=xxxx exceeded)

This problem may also exhibit itself with other system messages, as:

CONFIG: newproc - Process table overflow (NPROC=xxxx exceeded)
CONFIG: s5iread - XXXX inode table overflow (NINODE=xxxx exceeded)
             File table overflow

PROBLEM:  Panics can occur due to an incorrect kma buffer reference
after kernel memory has been freed in processorfs.

PROBLEM:  A UnixWare 7 NonStop Cluster is being set up with the internal (boot)
disks of the primary and secondary nodes hosted on an internal
(non-shared) Integrated Smart Array controller (for example, in a
RAID 1 setup) rather than the internal Ultra Wide SCSI controller.

After setting up the secondary node, the following error may be
seen on reboot of the node:

sysinit.sh : ERROR : unable to locate a swap device for node 2

Failover of the root filesystem to node 2 (by taking node 1 down)
may also fail with the result of node 2 continually rebooting.

If an attempt is made to create a filesystem on the internal disk
of the dependent node, for example:

             mkfs -F vxfs /dev/rdsk/n2c0b0t0d0sb 20000

will also fail with these errors:

WARNING: (ida,1) Compaq SMART: Interrupt from failed controller 0

WARNING: (ida,1) Compaq SMART: Interrupt from failed controller 0

             PANIC: Asynchronous I/O write error.

PROBLEM:  I have installed the Tarantella Security Pack (TSP), and when I
point my browser to the Tarantella URL, I get this error message:

             Tarantella connection lost

The connection to Tarantella has been lost. The error reported was:

Did not get back the Certificate hostname (joe12.tta.sco.com) when
converted it to an IP address and back again using client DNS.

PROBLEM:  The FTP daemon, /usr/sbin/ftpd (based on WU-FTPD), has a security
vulnerability that can allow unprivileged users to obtain root
access through use of the "site exec" command. This vulnerability
is described in CERT advisory CA-2000-13 (see http://www.cert.org).

PROBLEM:  A pkgadd of Support Level Supplement (SLS) ptf4008a does not
replace the fifofs drivers on some systems. However, pkgadd
completes successfully and does not report any errors.

          the UnixWare 7.1.1 Maintenance Set?

1. SCO Technical Articles released on 980225

The following problems are addressed in Technical Articles that appeared on
SCO's web site on 980225.  Each problem is preceded by the ASCII database
command to retrieve the relevant article, and the URL reference to get the
same article from the WAIS database.

Some of these TAs are new, others are revisions of prior versions.

it -r arc 41             http://www5.sco.com/cgi-bin/ssl_reference?930041
PROBLEM:  An SCO UNIX-based system that had SCO ARCserve installed on it
suffered a failure that resulted in the system being fresh-installed.
After completing this and installing and licensing SCO ARCserve,
tapes created previously with SCO ARCserve are not accessible.

Attempts to use cpio, tar or dd cannot read a tape created with
          ARCserve.

it -r os 3662            http://www5.sco.com/cgi-bin/ssl_reference?483662
PROBLEM:  Various problems have been identified in the networking components
of SCO UnixWare 2.1.1 and 2.1.2. How can I obtain fixes for these
          problems?
