OpenServer 5 and Adaptec APA1460a?

Post by Harr » Thu, 14 Nov 1996 04:00:00

Hi
Looking for a driver for free SCO OpenServer 5.0.2 for the Adaptec
APA-1460. Someone suggested a company in Florida (Lynnsoft?) but
they want well over $100 for the driver, well beyond the budget of
a fixed-income grad student.
Does anyone know of a driver that can be had for a relatively
low price?
Thx and kind regards
Harry

LynnSoft is about the only player in the PCMCIA-drivers-for-OpenServer
market.  http://www.lynnsoft.com/

All I can suggest is that you ask them about educational pricing...

While the listed cards/controllers are for both SCO OpenServer and UnixWare,
I doubt that there is any PCMCIA SCSI drivers for UnixWare x.x nor
it would work with any NE2000 ethernet card under UnixWare-2.1
(This has been a few months so things could be changed by now.)

Make sure to ask the specific question. What card/what OS/what notebook/etc...

1. adaptec slimscsi apa1460a/IRQ probs

on my thinkpad 380D, LINUX 2.0.30, trying to get scsi work with the
above card, by the following:

enabling all adaptec drivers

...on reboot, the card is recognized (adaptec 1542-compatible?), but i
get a console message saying IRQ 5 is in use...how can i find which IRQs
are in use, and how can i tell the scsi driver which to use?

currently, all i get when loading has finished is a series of

scsi: aborting command due to timeout

errors...
