Hi,
I have an SCO 3.2v4.2 system running on an NEC PowerMate 425. This computer
has a single serial port on the motherboard. The computer's setup program
allows this port to be set as COM1, COM2, or disabled. I have tried adding
a second serial port and SCO hwconfig does not report it. I then tried
to disable the port on the motherboard and added two ports on a standard
card using standard IRQ, port address etc (COM1:IRQ4 and COM2:IRQ3).
Dos boot from floppy is able to use these ports. SCO on bootup still reports
only a single COM1 port. Can I use the new port if it doesn't show up on
the "hwconfig" command? Where does hwconfig get its information from anyway?
Regards, Alan F.
