Hi !

I'd be useful to know the exact version of the SCO OSR5 system
you're using, since there are some of 'em around (eg, 5.0.0,
5.0.2 and 5.0.4). If you're using 5.0.0, then apply rs500d+net100
(available from ftp.sco.com - I think - it has been a while since
my last download) + SLS oss449f. If you happen to have 5.0.2
or 5.0.4, then apply only SLS oss449f and let us know.

Hope this helps !

Best,
Roberto

Not quite. oss449f should be applied to 5.0.0 or 5.0.2, but not to
5.0.4.  If you have 5.0.4, apply rs504c.

http://www.sco.com/support/ftplists/osr5list.html says:

SLS oss449f: Network Maintenacne Supplement
                             ^^
Date posted: 10-SEP-97

For:  SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.4
      SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.2
      SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.0 (w/ rs500d and net100)
      SCO Internet FastStart 1.0.0, 1.1.0

Do the oss449f installation instructions conflict with the web page?

rs504c incorporates everything that is in oss449f.

The URL you mention needs to be updated, I'll write about it
to SCO.

Hi !

Thanks for your contribution.

However, I'm  a little puzzled since then OSS449F cover letter states
the following:

"RELEASE INFORMATION

SLS OSS449F is intended for use on these products:

   SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.0, 5.0.2, and 5.0.4
SCO Internet FastStart Release 1.0.0 and 1.1.0"

After further reading, you can find:

"  3. For SCO OpenServer 5.0.4: Pull down the "Software" menu and select
     "Install New". "

"6. For SCO OpenServer 5.0.4: When prompted to select software to install,
ensure that the "OSS449F" entry is highlighted, then choose "Install". "

So I'm confused; I've encouraged a lot of people to download and
apply this patch on SCO OS 5.0.4 and this seems to have solved some
networking related problems (some not but this is another story).

Am I missing something ? Could you shed some lights ?

Thanks,
Roberto
