Specialix config.rio trouble

Specialix config.rio trouble

Post by Danny Aldh » Tue, 07 Nov 1995 04:00:00

I seem to run into trouble with this utility every month or two.
I can run config.rio fine, to configure & add terminals or
printers, but then it starts core dumping when I try to add
or change a terminal. Specialix have always been courtious,
but I have never gotten a good fix, short of re-installing the
OS and the Specialix drivers. Has anyone else found a fix or
work-around?

The last time I used this it tended to core dump if you used a terminal
type other than the standard ansi. (In my case I was using a 43 line
variant and it probably only copes with 25).

Specialix config.rio trouble

I have had a similar problem a couple of times with config.si crashing
and core dumping.  Last time it happened I remembered after a few
seconds what it was I was doing to provoke it.  If I can remember again,
or if I remembered to put the incident in the system administration log
at the time, I will let you know.  I have a vague feeling that it was to
do with being or not being logged in as root, or something like that.
