I have a UUCP account with a long distance ISP. My email flows peacefully
in this configuration and has for a couple years. Unfortunately, with the
flow I have of various newsgroups, my long distance bill runs about
$70/month. This is *not* economical.
Locally, there is a POP to a different ISP. I actually have a personal account
with them because of the non long distance. They do not offer UUCP accounts.
The local POP is %ppp *only*. When I require WEB access I use the local POP
and windoze. I have never attempted to connect my SCO v5.0 to them via %ppp,
however I am sure that I could because the procedure has been well documented
in this newsgroup on several occasions.
My question is .. Can my email batch up to go thru the local POP and %ppp in
a similar fashion to the UUCP which I currently transfer via long distance tel?
If it can, what do I ask for from the local POP, and what do I have to alter
in my own configuration?
My guess for my internal setup is to route my badhosts thru the correct smtp
channel rather than the present uucp channel. What do I ask the POP Tech
Support for, so that I at least *sound* like I know what I am talking about?
TIA
