Yes.

It really depends on what you mean. If you mean "Can I use
either SCSI or IDE drives", the answer is generally yes, though
you may need btld's for the particular SCSI controller you choose
to run those drives on.
If you mean "Can I use both in the same machine?", then the answer
is a qualified yes, assuming you don't mind the IDE being the
boot drive.
And if you mean "Do the drivers for IDE or sCSI necessarily
support every whiz-bang feature recently added by the manufacturer?"
then the answer is "Not necessarily".
If you have something specific in mind, you can get better
answers..

Surely that depends on the P.C.'s BIOS these days?Quote:>It really depends on what you mean. If you mean "Can I use

I don't recall anything later than this giving a way around it..Quote:> For OpenServer, booting from a SCSI drive and also accessing an IDE

1. using ide-scsi & scsi devices
I have a ide CDROM and a scsi CDRW. I have set up the ide CDROM as ide-scsi
and can mount it as /dev/scd1, the scsi CDRW is /dev/scd0.
When using Eclipt CDRoaster it is looking for the LUN and Channel, device
numbers For the CDRW this is 0,0,3 what should it be for the CDROM? Doing a
detect reader / writer shows the CDRW but not the CDROM.
