Pointers on setting up Dial-up/PPP for Unixware V2.1.2, where?

Post by William D. Borge » Wed, 19 Aug 1998 04:00:00

Hi!

I just installed SCO Unixware V2.1; works great! Easier to setup and
boots faster than  Frankenstein95 OS.  I'm using both OS's using a
shareware boot manager
called doscBOOT V 0.42(Check it out! You won't be disappointed.) on my
plain 'ol wintel box.

Anyway,  I'm using W#$%^n95 OS until I can get my dial-up/ppp working
with Unixware.
Would someone please point me to a website/homepage that
discusses/explains the
process of setting up a dial-up/ppp in Unixware?  I'd RTFM, if I had a
FM...
Do I need a static DNS to use Morning star ppp?
Any help guys/gals?

TIA!

William D. Borgen

P.S. I hope this is the right NG for the above request.

I believe there's postscript documentation for morning star PPP
included on the unixware CD, but you can also get it from
http://www.sco.com/documentation -- under "SCO Internet Family"
you'll find "Morning Star PPP User's Guide Release 2.1".

I'm not sure what you mean by "static DNS", but I'm pretty sure
whatever it is, you don't need it... I'm sure if mstppp required
any particular DNS configuration I would have heard about it.

If you have the "ifs" bundle installed, you can use the Internet
Manager to configure the PPP connection; it's much easier that way.
