Post by Calvin Fo » Sat, 11 Aug 2001 23:02:18

I'm currently running the Linux Mandrake 8.0 Box. After setting up
the ADSL connection to the internet, I want to share the internet to
my local LAN.
How can I do this, please teaches me

1. Problem of using boardband router in linux

Hi, I get a wireless boardband router today, which I able to share
internet connection, of my notebook and desktop. However, I find that my
linux can't connect to the management console using browser, it is ok at
windows. I guess the cause is the route table setting difference...

Here is my network information:

Kernel IP routing table
Destination     Gateway         Genmask         Flags Metric Ref    Use
Iface   *        U     0      0        0 eth0       *            U     0      0        0 lo
default         UG    0      0        0 eth0

eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:50:BF:0A:78:AA
          inet addr:  Bcast:  Mask:
          RX packets:65793 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:94679 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
          RX bytes:16543512 (15.7 Mb)  TX bytes:118407197 (112.9 Mb)
          Interrupt:15 Base address:0x3000

lo        Link encap:Local Loopback
          inet addr:  Mask:
          UP LOOPBACK RUNNING  MTU:16436  Metric:1
          RX packets:2792 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:2792 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
          RX bytes:985651 (962.5 Kb)  TX bytes:985651 (962.5 Kb)

The IP address is not get from DHCP but manually input. Anyone have idea
about this?

Besides, my boardband router come with a printer server, anyone know how
can I set it up at Linux?
