: I have a Dell 466/ME with a IDE disk (drive C) and a CDC Wren 5 SCSI disk.

Put it in WD compat mode, not in EATA mode to use linux.

More than Likely DOS is using it in WD emulation also,  ie DOS just sees
a giant MFM/IDE drive.

2.  use /dev/hda* instead of /dev/sda*
