on the terminal of the user who is receiving the request type the
command:

mesg y

that turns on messages so that talk can display messages to the user...u
may have to do the same thing to the person who is trying to initiate a
talk session as well (root by default as mesg set to n (for no messages
allowed)

1. talk daemon error

I recently installed Slackware 2.1.  I have been working on getting my
ethernet card to work.  I finally set up LILO to pass the parameters
when i boot since it wasn't recognizing my ne2000 card.  But I
digress....  I can telnet and ftp, certain commands like rusers and
finger also work, but i tried to talk to someone on another computer
and got the following message.

[Error on read from talk daemon : Connection refused (111)]

Does anyone know what this is.   I was trying to find a config file or
somehing for talk but with no luck.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
