Status of the proposed Adaptec 152x driver

Post by yana.. » Tue, 03 Aug 1993 23:17:35

Someone (who apparently wrote one or more of the existing Linux SCSI
drivers) recently put up a post stating that if enough interest were
shown (along with some degree of financial support) that he'd be
willing to write a driver for the 152x (1520, 1522).   Would that
person please send me a note giving the current status of that
proposal?

(Stuff came up, and it looks as if I'll be holding on to my 1520 for a
while...)

(BTW: if anyone else is currently working on a 152x driver, I'd like to
 hear from them as well.)

Thanks,

That would be me.  At first, replies were slow in coming and
it didn't look like it would work, but I was still getting responses
at the end of last week (really makes you wonder about the speed of some
people's News feeds :-)), so at this point the project looked like it's
time to get documentation from Adaptec and ask for more formal
commitments based on what I find out.

I'll make a post after I've read the documentation from Adaptec and
know what will be involved.
