ctwm bug in linux [only]

Post by Michael He » Tue, 13 Jul 1993 22:58:04

I am running ctwm under linux and I am seeing the following problem:

opening a popup window (pressing mouse button in root), above the
workspace manager will erase the covered part of the workspace manager
when the popup window is closed.

Notes:
------
1. This does not happen if the workspace manager is in the mode where
it displays the windows.

2. Moving or resizing the workspace manager will not refresh it.

3. To refresh it only the following will work: issuing a refresh,
covering the workspace manager with another window, clicking in
workspace manager to switch to another display.

4. This does not happen on the version I am running under SUN-OS
neither under MACH at the university!!!

5. I am using XFree86-1.2, linux version 0.99 pl-9, SLS distribution.

Thanks in advance for your help.

1. Possible bug 0.99pl13/XFree86 2.0 + CTWM 3.0

System: 386SX/16+IIT FPU, 8Mb RAM, Orchid Farenheit 1280+ ISA, ext2fs,
        WD caviar IDE drive.

I left my system on for three days, after second day I noticed that xterms
were mysteriously dying.  I'd lock up with xlock, and anywhere from an hour to
ten hours later, when I unlocked, my xterm was dead (gone).  Locking followed
by immediate unlocking produced no problems, and the emacs windows also around
didn't appear to die.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Elan
