Post by mr » Sat, 26 May 2001 22:50:44

hello all,

does the ext2 filesystem have a 2 gig limit for a file size?  i am trying
to dump some large files that are well over 2 gig.

does ext3 or jfs or sgi's xfs have file size limitations?

thanks for all your help

The VFS layer in the 2.2 kernels and below have the 2G limit. Upgrade
to 2.4, and make sure that all programs are recompiled to be able to
use big files.
