xdm-shadow under 0.99p10

Post by Raymond Ng » Thu, 24 Jun 1993 14:14:05

Have anybody got xdm-shadow compiled under 0.99p10, lib 4.4 and XFree

I had one working under .99p8, lib 4.3 and XFree 1.2 but under the new
environment it would not recognize shadow passwd, and I couldn't get
it compile again under new set up.

Any clue?

1. xdm-shadow listens to some port

It seems that xdm-shadow listens to some random port and the same applies for all processes started under xdm-shadow. Does anybody know whether this is a security problem? Is there any way to avoid it?

Currently, no other host can access the display or get a login window (/etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess).

Many thanks in advance.
